WHAT IS DAY AT THE CAPITOL?
Day at the Capitol is an annual event that welcomes 350 attendees that include physicians, clinicians, directors, and health center patients and advocates to Sacramento to engage with legislators and legislative staff about budget and legislative priorities impacting community health centers.
This exciting day-long event showcases our statewide strength, educates the public about health centers and what they do, and gives attendees the opportunitytoadvocate for issues that are important to them. The Day at the Capitol program includes a kickoff event on the Capitol steps, a health fair representinghealth centers throughout the state, an educational luncheon with a prominent keynote speaker, and a celebratory reception at the end of theday.
CaliforniaHealth+ Advocates is a CPCA affiliated organization created to advance the mission of community health centers. The organization provides health centers more flexibility and capacity to advocate, above and beyond what is allowed by CPCA as a charity. All of our state level advocacy work is conducted by CaliforniaHealth+ Advocates.
