CaliforniaHealth+ Advocates is committed to ensuring that all Medi-Cal enrollees have timely access to high quality health care and a comprehensive benefit package in Medi-Cal.
Community health centers (CHCs) play a key role in supporting the Medi-Cal eligible population, from a smooth and seamless enrollment process, to selecting a managed care plan and a primary care provider, to serving as a patient centered health home and coordinating care with the rest of the delivery system. CaliforniaHealth+ Advocates supports CHCs through this process by serving as a conduit of information between policy makers at the state and federal level and the CHC staff that work firsthand with the Medi-Cal population. On behalf of CHCs, we seek to grow the diversity of California’s health care infrastructure in order to ensure that care is culturally and linguistically relevant to the Medi-Cal population, we advocate for programs that emphasize primary care and prevention, and promote the coordination of medical and behavioral health care with social services and community resources.
