Community health centers have a proud and storied history of advocacy.
Since their founding, health center leaders have marched for equality, fought for social justice, and have been leading community activists. It’s always been clear to health centers that if they want to deliver on the promise of health, it was up to them to advocate for the health of their patients and the health of their communities. Health centers embraced that notion more than twenty years ago when they formed the California Primary Care Association (CPCA) and unified behind a single statewide voice for health centers.
CaliforniaHealth+ Advocates builds on that legacy and takes a bold step into the future with an organization whose sole purpose is to advocate for community health centers and help them advance their mission through lobbying, advocacy, and meaningful engagement with elected officials and candidates for office.
